The fourth talk in the series 'Help Our Planet' will welcome Dr George McGavin, a zoologist, entomologist, broadcaster and president of the Dorset Wildlife Trust.
He is known as the presenter for the BBC and Discovery Channel US series Expedition Borneo (2007) and as a co-presenter of the BBC series Expedition, for which he has conducted three expeditions: Lost Land of the Jaguar (2008), Lost Land of the Volcano (2009), and Lost Land of the Tiger (2010). He is also a regular contributor to The One Show (BBC1) and has appeared on the Richard and Judy Show to cook and eat insects.
Dr McGavin will be talking about some of his adventures while filming and suggesting what we can do to protect fragile ecosystems from the damaging effects of climate change and environmental destruction.
He will then be joined by an expert panel and the evening ends with questions from the audience.
The talk takes place at the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis, on Tuesday, September 14 from 7pm.
