The Allington Hillbillies has celebrated its 10th birthday, marking a decade of volunteering to look after Allington Hill and Coopers Wood/Field.

The group has achieved a lot in the past 10 years since January 23, 2011, with wildlife projects such as improving the diversity of the woodland and improving the connectivity of the area by making wildlife corridors improving the hedge lines around the site.

Cathy Harvey, of Allington Hillbillies, said: "We have many plans to celebrate our anniversary later in the year, including planting trees, replacing a much-loved seat and hopefully a community event, when it is safe to do so.

"We have held many family events promoting wildlife activities. We are asking people for donations to replace one of the favourite benches that used to look over the flower meadow."

The details of how to donate can be found on Allington Hillbillies Facebook page
