The Co-op gave a welcome boost to the Allington Hillbillies' coronation celebrations over the weekend.

The Allington Hillbillies volunteer to maintain the Woodland Trust's Allington Hill, and Allington Parish Council's Cooper's Wood and Field, in Bridport, benefitting both local wildlife and the community by keeping these green spaces open to all.

They hosted a community party at Cooper's Field to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camillia on Saturday.

The Hillbillies were named the winners of Co-op's coronation party pack draw, held in association with Bridport Nub News, and received a pack of decorations to use at the community event.

The Co-op aims to support local groups that save and restore nature or tackle climate change, so the Allington Hillbillies fit the bill exactly!

Bridport Young Performers, which is one of the local causes currently being supported by Co-op members at the Bridport store, also performed at the event.

The Co-op is now calling all community groups to apply for the next round of the Local Community Fund - find out more here.

Co-op Membership helps support Co-op's national charity partners and Local Community Fund causes. See www.coop.co.uk/membership
