Bridport: Charity shop launches The Bridal Room
A Bridport charity shop has launched a brand-new bridal shop in the centre of town.
The Bridal Room has opened in the Scope charity shop on East Street as research shows there has been an increase over the last four years in brides, grooms and wedding guests considering buying their outfit at a charity shop.
So, perfect timing for the charity shop to launch The Bridal Room.
The Bridal Room will have a range of wedding dresses, shoes, accessories, hats for the mother of the bride and prom dresses.
Creating The Bridal Room was no mean feat for shop manager Nicole Hooper. The space needed a lot of work doing to it so she enlisted the help of her family and Bridport community to transform the room.
She said: "I have to thank my late mother for giving me the push I needed to create The Bridal Room.
"Our room upstairs was unused and just waiting for a very large dose of TLC. I've always had a vision to have a really special room where our team can make brides to be feel looked after and help them find their perfect dress at an affordable price.
"Getting this special boutique area ready for brides to be and their mothers was an epic, joint family and community effort and I can't thank everyone enough for their kindness and hard work. Without their incredible support we wouldn't have been able to create this unique space in the town.
"We can't wait to meet the brides to be who choose The Bridal Room for their big day and we'll ensure they'll have a fantastic experience with us. Brides should also get an extra good feeling, knowing they are helping Scope to support disabled people and their families."
The Bridal Room is by appointment only. Disabled customers can book an accessible appointment after 5pm, on the ground floor, where the shop will be screened off for privacy and laptops will show the range of dresses for the bride to be to choose from, to be brought down to try on in a spacious, private area.
When a customer books an appointment, they simply give their dress size and the team at Bridport will get dresses ready for them to choose from.
