West Bay Discover Centre has won funding for its interactive climate change feature.

The team has welcomed directors of Dorset Community Energy's support for two new interactive screens that enable visitors to find out about the potential impacts of climate change on West Bay and what people can do to reduce their own household's carbon footprint.

The interactive screens have attracted a lot of interest, especially with the crucial climate conference COP26 raising general awareness of these issues.

Dorset Community Energy is a not-for-profit community benefit society which funds renewable energy installations on public and community buildings, in the process making a financial return for its members. It now has a small fund that gives grants to community projects such as the discovery centre interactive screens, that aim to help reduce carbon emissions.

The discovery centre is now closed for a winter break, apart from walks and talks, but will be open over the Christmas holiday period. See the centre's website or Facebook for details.
