Find out more about a safe route between Chideock and Bridport this weekend

A drop-in session from residents and those interested to find out more about a safe pedestrian route between Bridport and Chideock is being held this weekend.

Chideock resident Winston Maskell has been exploring a trail for walkers and cyclists, linking the village to Symondsbury then on to Bridport. Currently, the only level walking route is along the busy A35.

He has had talks with Symondsbury and Chideock parish councils and received support from local residents and visitors.

You will now be able to see the project documents at The George pub in Chideock on Saturday, February 26 from 10amto 1pm, before they are formally given to Dorset Council.

These include references to past, failed projects and other relevant information, the possible routes for the trail and the pros and cons for each, as well as a compilation of the emails and letter received in regards to the project.

There is now a dedicated Facebook page for the project - Chideock Path to Bridport where you can find out more and keep up-to-date.
