Returning to West Dorset after a two-year break is the ever-popular Fairey Band.

The brass band has been coming to Beaminster for more than 40 years, delighting packed audiences and raising money for local good causes.

Residents Tony and Margaret Greenham have organised each visit and were made honorary vice-presidents in recognition for this and all their support of the band.

As well as traditional brass numbers, The Fairey Band also performs acid brass, the fusion of acid house anthems with the sound of a traditional British brass band. The programme will include this with music from pop to classics.

The concert has raised thousands of pounds for charities over the years and this year will be raising money for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and St Mary's Church.

The Fairey Band will be performing at St Mary's Church in Beaminster on April 2 from 3pm.

Tickets cost £12.50 from Symonds and Sampson in Beaminster, The Yarn Barton Centre and the church office in Hogshill Street, or call 01308 862493 or email [email protected].
