Over 30 local business owners enjoyed this launch event at the Bull Hotel

More than 30 business owners joined the first networking event by Connect Bridport at the Bull Hotel in Bridport.

After an introduction by the mayor of Bridport, Ian Bark, they were treated to two short but informative talks about social media.

Patrick Walsh, a young podcaster who works for The Design Yard, took them through the different platforms available and then Luke Hayter of Luke Hayter Fitness explained how to maximise your presence using the best platform for your niche and making your posts relatable.

There was then time for mingling and pizza.

Bridget Long, one of the organisers, said: "There's a real desire for a place local business owners and managers can get together, to share ideas and information. Being a business owner can be lonely and its great to have somewhere to meet others in the same situation."

Bridport Business Chamber secretary Debbie Bond added: "This launch event had a real buzz and we're already looking forward to the next one in March.

"Many thanks to Valerie at The Design Yard for keeping everybody organised."

The next event will be at the same venue on March 24 from 6.30pm, speaker to be confirmed - don't miss it!
