Police warning after two men tried to gain access to a car in Salway Ash

Residents are urged to be vigilant and to not leave any valuables in their car after two men tried to gain access to a car parked in the Salway Ash area.

A spokesman for Bridport police said: "Around 12.30pm on Monday, December 7, a caller reported parking in the Salway Ash area to have a walk, and while walking noticed a silver Mercedes A Class park by their vehicle.

"Two males got out of the Mercedes and approached our caller's vehicle, trying to open the boot. As he walked back, the males saw the caller and drove off.

"Please be aware when parking in isolated areas not to leave any items of value inside your vehicle, even if hidden away."
