The Bridport North area has become a 'coronavirus hotspot' with cases rising 600 per cent.

The Government's coronavirus interactive map shows the Bridport North area and Bradpole had 21 cases in the seven days to December 27, up 18 cases from the previous seven-day period.

A spokesman for Bradpole Parish Council said: "Bradpole has become a 'coronavirus hotspot'.

"There are reports that a minority of irresponsible residents have been holding illegal gatherings indoors and in some cases with visitors staying overnight.

"Tier 3 restrictions apply: you must not meet socially indoors with anybody you do not live with, have a support bubble with unless a legal exemption applies.

"Indoor means any indoor setting, including private homes."
