Tea on the Green at Wellfields Drive has had to be postponed.

It was hoped to be able to bring people together on July 4 to celebrate the end of lockdown on Wellfields Green in Bradpole, but the extension of restrictions has meant the event has to be postponed.

Sherri Ahmet, secretary of Friends of Wellfields, said: "We felt that that would be the safest decision given the announcement from the Government.

"We are saying 'postpone' because we are sure that the end of summer will be a good time to celebrate, maybe August. We don't want to announce another date yet, we will wait for the Government decision first.

"Meanwhile, our message is that our consultation process will continue and any further comments or ideas have to be with us by July 4.

"We are hoping once the public has spoken about the green areas and how they would like them to be used, we can gather ideas and propose a new plan for the Wellfields area."
