Bridport: Changes to council services on Bank Holiday Monday for State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Recycling centres will be closed on the day of the Queen's funeral.
Recycling centres will be closed on the day of the Queen's funeral.

There will be changes to libraries, sports centres, and recycling centres on the day of the Queen's funeral.

This will allow as many people as possible to pay their respects to Her Late Majesty and commemorate her reign.

The following will be affected:

Schools and colleges

All Dorset schools and colleges (including related transport arrangements) will be closed on Monday 19th September.

Bin collections

There will be no kerbside bin collections of any kind on Monday (19th).

Household recycling centres

Weymouth Household Recycling Centre (HRC) will be closed on Sunday 18th September for an Ironman event, with access to Dorchester HRC potentially disrupted too. Dorset Council recommends delaying your visit or using an alternative open HRC.

All Dorset Council HRCs will be closed all day Monday 19th September.

Libraries

Libraries will be closed on Monday (19th).

Country parks

Dorset Council's country parks will be accessible to the public. However, on-site concessions such as visitor centres, cafés, and other leisure facilities will be closed. 

Leisure centres

Local leisure centres will be closed on Monday - this includes Bridport Leisure Centre.

Registration services

Registration Offices and the Crematorium will be closed.

Outdoor education centres

All Outdoor Education Centres will be closed on Monday.
