Time is running out to get your bids in to be in with a chance of being an extra on the final series of Doc Martin.

Weldmar Hospicecare had to cancel its 2021 summer fete due to the Covid-19 pandemic, an event actor Martin Clunes regularly visits and donates a walk-on part on his popular ITV show, Doc Martin, as one of the silent auction lots.

However, despite it not going ahead, Martin has ensured that Weldmar can still run the auction.

He said: "We've been doing this for a while and we've had more than one person bid £50,000 for it.

"We've got a new girl who has turned it into an art form and rather than just being an extra for the day, she'll put the through the make-up chair and show them around the prop store and wardrobe, show them the editing suite, which is on site. It's become more of a Doc Martin experience."

There are two opportunities to enjoy the experience, one for an individual and one for a couple, which are both being auctioned on eBay.

It will take place in the fishing village of Port Isaac in Cornwall - Portwenn to Doc Martin fans - and the day will start backstage.

After seeing up close the set of Doc Martin, which includes the pharmacy and doctor's surgery, you will have the opportunity to see the cast shooting their scenes before taking to the stage and starring in one of the scenes.

You will also have the chance to meet Martin Clunes.

Bids are open until Sunday, September 19 and can be done here where more information is also available.
