Bridport and Lyme Regis Community Energy Champions will be hosting an online workshop on home energy efficiency this week, which all are welcome to join.

The workshop will be held via Zoom on Friday, May 5 from 10am to 12noon and will be led by the Centre for Sustainable Energy.

Organisers are hoping the event will attract more Community Energy Champions locally, but is also open to all working in the energy advice area, councillors and anyone interested in understanding more about the technical issues arising from making homes more energy efficient.

The topics to be covered include:

  • Refresh on general principles of energy efficiency and retrofit
  • Specific insulation measures and considerations (with particular focus on materials)
  • Controlling draughts and ventilation
  • Preventing condensation and damp issues (including mould removal)
  • Considerations for listed and heritage buildings
  • Grants available & further information and support for champions and households
  • Open discussion and Q&A for specific questions – chance to ask technical questions

Anyone interested in taking part should email [email protected] for the Zoom link.
