Open day at Bridport Fire Station.
Open day at Bridport Fire Station.

Firefighters from Bridport Fire Station will host an open day this weekend - the first in two years.

The event will take place on Saturday (3rd) from 10am–4pm, offering fun, entertainment, and advice for all ages.

Bridport's firefighters are encouraging everyone to come along for a fun-filled day, look around the station, fire appliances and learn about home, fire, and road safety.

The event will involve a wide range of activities, including road traffic collision demonstrations, fire engine tours, an abseiling display from the Coastguard, face painting and other activities for children – including a teddy bear zip line.

The station will also be holding two of their legendary tombolas – one for the adults, and one for the children.

Crew Manager Chris Hobby added: "It's been over 2 years since we've had an open day due to Covid 19, so we're thrilled to be able to invite the public back onto the station once again. These events are wonderful – they give us the chance to engage with our local community and other emergency services whilst having a bit of fun and raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity. We hope to see as many people involved as possible."
