Bridport Fiver Fest returns in October

The next Fiver Fest is coming to Bridport next month - with even more deals and bargains.

From October 9 to 23, Bridport will be joining other towns around the country in celebrating local independent businesses and offering customers £5 deals.

A call-out earlier this year for help in delivering the campaign resulted in offers from Bridport Rotary Club and, thanks to members' enthusiasm and support, the team is well placed to make the Fiver Fest even bigger and better than previous years.

Local retailers report that customers have been delighted to return to the high street after the distance buying and lockdowns of the last 18 months. Nikki Brotherton, of Bridport Museum, sees Fiver Fest as "a great opportunity to regularly reconnect with the community".

"It provides a focus of bringing fresh, local footfall into our unique shop," she said, "and to spread the word about our neighbouring independent businesses, which make our historic market town such a great place to be."

Created by Totally Locally, the Fiver Fest encourages people to think about how they spend their cash with a simple message: 'If everyone in Bridport and the surrounding villages spent 35 a week with a local business instead of online or in a big supermarket, we could add an extra £4.6million to Bridport's local economy'.

All local, independent businesses are eligible to take part this October. To sign up or for more information, email [email protected]
