A kids fun run is coming back to Bridport - thanks to Bridport Ladies Circle.

The event will take place at St Mary's Playing Fields on Saturday, May 7 from 2pm to 4pm.

There will be a 1.5k run for children aged three to six and a 2.5k run for those aged seven to 15. It costs £1 to enter.

A spokesman for Bridport Ladies Circle said: "We're so excited to announce our first annual kids fun run on Saturday, May 7. Kids can take part by skipping, running or walking - all abilities welcome. There will be a little fete with refreshments and games for all the family.

"This year we will be raising money for UNICEF's Ukraine Response, war in Ukraine poses an immediate threat to children. UNICEF is working to scale up life-saving support for children of Ukraine."

Each fun run entrant will receive a certificate and goody bag for taking part. First, second and third places for each age group will be announced but we encourage taking part and having fun over a focus on winning.
