The Government is due to announce the lifting of lockdown restrictions but Bridport Leisure Centre will keep some measures after July 19.
Taking into account the rising number of cases in the local area and in order to ensure that the centre can continue to operate smoothly, management has made the following decisions:
- It will still actively encourage members and swim school parents to wear face masks when in circulation areas or spectating
- Social distancing measure will stay in place throughout the centre
- You will still need to pre-book sessions. However, entry times for fitness sessions in the gym and lane swimming will be relaxed, meaning members can arrive any time up to 15 minutes before the end of the session. There is still a five-minute cut off time for fitness classes
- Temperature checks on entering the building have been removed to ensure a safe distance can be maintained between members and staff. If members feel unwell, they are asked not to visit the centre
- A Perspex screen has been installed at the customer service desk
- Lane swimming capacity will be increased to 24
- Fitness classes will continue to operate in the sports hall and outside until further notice
- Two further Aqua Fit sessions will be added to the timetable from Monday, July 26
- Dry side changing rooms and all showers will remain closed until further notice
Centre manager William Thrower said: "We are hoping that in the near future, we will be able to make further exciting additions to our programme and we thank you for all your support of Bridport Leisure Centre during these challenging times.
"The safety of our staff and members continues to be our number one priority."
