Residents are being urged not to call Bridport medical centre to enquire about booking Covid booster vaccines.
The message comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared an "omicron emergency" with booster jabs being offered to everyone over 18 in England from this week.
To do this, routine health check may be postponed by GPs to make space for vaccinations and extra vaccine sites and mobile units would be set up.
However, the team at Ammonite Health Partnership, do not currently have plans to offer vaccines at Bridport medical centre.
A spokesman said: "The Prime Minister's announcement regarding the urgent provision of Covid booster vaccines was news to us too.
"At this stage, we have no detail regarding any additional capacity for booster vaccinations in West Dorset.
"If you are eligible for any Covid vaccination, please book via nhs.uk or call 119.
"Please share this message with your family and friends to help us prevent an influx of phone calls. We need our lines to be kept free for those seeking medical help."
The medical centre's website and Facebook page will be updated as soon as the team knows more.
