Bridport Millennium Green Trust is celebrating a busy year of visitors to the town centre green space.

At its annual open meeting this year, the trust will acknowledge the increased number of visitors to the Millennium Meadow, wood, the Mountfield lawn and raised beds.

Paul Bennett, secretary of the trust, said: "The Covid lockdowns resulted in more people using the wonderful open-air locations and enjoying walking and relaxing outside. We have also hosted new events this year such as the food festival."

In 2020, a consultation on the next five-year plan took place and was conducted mainly online and progress has already been made on items in the plan.

The 'ice house' near Mountfield has also been uncovered and new thoughts on its true identification will be divulged at the meeting.

The annual open meeting will be help on Tuesday, August 24 at 7pm in the WI Hall, North Street. Immediately following it will be the Friends of the Bridport Millennium Green annual meeting.
