Bridport Museum will be celebrating 90 years this month with free entry, family fun, activities and a fundraising raffle.

Admission will be free on Saturday, May 28, but anyone who buys their annual pass - £5 for over 21s - will get a free raffle ticket.

The raffle includes some wonderful prizes, such as a hamper from Balson butchers and even a night glamping in a bell tent.

As the venue embarks on its 90th year, it also has a range of volunteering opportunities to share.

The museum is recruiting volunteers to recruit visitors, give ropemaking demonstrations, work in the shop and steward events and exhibitions.

The museum's volunteer training programme will also help you share the town's heritage with locals and tourists and is a great way to keep you connected with your local community, expand your knowledge and have fun.

Emily Hicks, director of Bridport Museum, said: "We would love to welcome new recruits this summer and help make the next 90 years of the museum's story.

"New volunteers will be joining a welcoming and friendly team. Opportunities to volunteer are available six days a week, including Saturdays. You can join a regular shift or be on our stand-in rota if you aren't looking for a regular commitment."

To find out more, visit bridportmuseum.co.uk, email [email protected], call 01308 458703, or drop into the museum on Saturday, May 28 between 10am and 4pm.
