Bridport Town Council is seeking a marshal for this year's Remembrance Sunday events.

Despite much searching, they are yet to find one and it could result in the cancellation of the parade.

The event on November 13th is edging closer - with the Town Council issuing an appeal on social media.

They said: "Our plans for Remembrance Sunday have hit a serious problem. The wonderful parade of forces-related organisations needs a Marshal to direct them and, despite much searching, we haven't found one for this year. Without this role, it's unlikely we'd be able to hold the parade, so the event would only involve the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial, and the Remembrance Sunday service.

"The parade is such an important part of Remembrance in Bridport and we are desperate not to lose it."

If you have, or if anyone you know has the skills and background to fulfil the role, get in touch via 01308 456722 or [email protected].
