Two daring Bridport businessmen have almost reached the target of their £6,500 fundraising campaign for Mountjoy School.

Robert Stephenson of R.N. Stephenson Electrical Contractors, and Neil Barnes, manager of Devondale Electrical Wholesalers, are panning a skydive to raise funds for a mobile sensory machine at the special educational needs school in Beaminster.

The skydive was initially set to take place last weekend but has now been postposed until later this month due to the wet weather.

The pair have so far raised £5,900 of their £6,500 target, thanks to an online fundraising page and events including a bingo night, grand raffle and supermarket cycle.

The fundraisers said: "If anyone feels able to donate even just £1 to this amazing cause then that would take us just that one step nearer to achieving what we set out to do - to make a difference to the children that attend this amazing school."
