Bridport walk of the week: A loop around Powerstock Common Nature Reserve

By Lottie Welch 27th Jul 2021

Every week we will be sharing a circular walk in and around our local area with directions and photos. We use the OS Map app, which is very useful if you are out walking.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will be able to receive the walk first every Friday and be able to enjoy it over the weekend.

This week's walk is a loop around Powerstock Common Nature Reserve, around two and a half miles and taking approximately an hour. It is easy level walking.

Start at the car park and go down the path by the information boards and through the gate to continue along the path. Walk round to the left where there is a right hand path.

Continue along the path, going through the first gate, and when you get to a second which then opens up to a field and hill, go through it and immediately take the path to the right.

Where the gravel path ends, follow the dirt path to a wooden gate. Go through it and turn right. Continue along this path for some time, going through another gate and where the path ends and meets another, turn left. It will then bring you back to the start of the walk.

There are so many routes and areas to explore at Powerstock Common so there are so many other routes you can also explore.

This walk is just a suggestion, you can of course take any different routes you wish to make it more direct or make it longer. Always take extra care where the ground is uneven or wet.

Please leave gates as you find them - if you opened it, close it.

Please keep dogs on leads around livestock.
