Two people had to be released from cars and the air ambulance called after a crash on the coast road near Burton Bradstock.
Fire crews, police, the ambulance service and the air ambulance all attended the incident on the B3157 near The Old Coastguard Holiday Park this morning just before 10am.
Two cars were involved in a head on crash, leaving two people trapped, one in each car, and 'walking wounded'.
The ambulance service was on scene providing medical care when Bridport fire crews arrived.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "Due to the nature of the incident, an assistance message was sent by the incident commander for one extra appliance. This was mobilised from Beaminster Fire Station.
"Police were on route; two further ambulances and the air ambulance was also requested.
"Crews got to work stabilising each vehicle and making them safe before using the cutting equipment to release both casualties.
"Fire crews and ambulance crews then worked together to remove the casualties. One casualty was assisted from their vehicle whilst the other was extracted on a spinal board.
"The road is currently closed to allow for investigation works.
"This was another great collaboration between all three emergency services.
"We wish each casualty a speedy recovery."
