An appeal to raise £10,000 for a community exceeded its target with three days to spare.

The Crowdfunder for St Mary's Church House Hall is was launched to save the venue from closure by recouping some of the financial loss from 2020 and 2021 so far due to the coronavirus pandemic.

So far it has raised £10,140.

Donations can still be made here and the appeal will close at 9.30pm this evening (Monday).

Monty Crook, chairman of the hall, said: "Sincere thanks from all the committee to all those generous folk near and far who got us over the line and demonstrated how much this community hub has been valued."
