Is it a record?

Dorset Council's Thursday morning committee meeting which delves into the authority's place and resources function was all over and done with in less than 17 minutes.

Virtually the only item of business for the place and resources overview committee, held online, was a report on skid resistance standards for the county's roads. It was presented by head of highways, Jack Williams, who admitted that the document was "a bit technical".

Despite that councillor Roland Tarr, who represents rural wards to the south of Dorchester and is a keen cyclist, said he had read it cover to cover and proposed its adoption, commenting on it being a "first class piece of work."
