Eight Covid-related deaths recorded in January across the Bridport area

There were eight Covid-related deaths in the Bridport area in January, according to figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

Its interactive map shows the number of deaths in the area from March 2020 until January 2021 where Covid-19 was mentioned as a cause of death on the death certificate.

The map reports there were four deaths in Bridport North, two deaths in the Burton Bradstock and Chideock area - which covers the area around Bridport South and Bridport North from Charmouth to Netherbury and to West Bexington - and two deaths in Bridport South and West Bay.

Overall, there have been six deaths in Bridport North, three in Burton Bradstock and Chideock and three in Bridport South and West Bay.

There were no Covid-related deaths reported in the Beaminster area in January.

Two Covid- related deaths were recorded in the Chickerell and Chesil Bank area, which covers Litton Cheney, Abbotsbury, Portesham, Chickerell and the villages in between. There have been four deaths overall in this area.
