The Allington Hillbillies, a volunteer group working to conserve the natural beauty of Allington Hill in Bridport, make it accessible to all, recently held a walk and talk event.

Guest speakers were Nick Gray of the Dorset Wildlife Trust and Ian Rees of Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as Rob Powell from Hogchester Meadows, who brought his seed sweeping machine and collected some seed from an area of the Allington Hill wildflower meadow.

Nick spoke about the varied flora and fauna of the meadow, while Ian told us about the work of Dorset AONB throughout the county.

A delicious tea was provided by the Hillbillies and enjoyed by all.
