Bridport's From Page to Screen festival will be going ahead this year online.

The three-day festival will be hosted by Bridport Arts Centre from Thursday, April 22 to Saturday, April 24.

A spokesman for the festival said: "2020 was a challenging year for everyone, with the cessation of many activities we all took for granted.

"We did our utmost to bring the festival to the arts centre in October 2020 but it proved an impossible task.

"Thanks to an investment to the arts centre of film equipment, we are able to ass online content to our standard programme of events and are delighted to have the means of providing continuity for the festival during this period of uncertainty, and beyond."

Full details of the 2021 shorter, online festival will be available on both the From Page to Screen and Bridport Arts Centre's websites in the next couple of weeks.

There will be a line-up of films introduced by speakers, filmed especially for the festival.

The From Page to Screen committee is working hard on fine-tuning "an outstanding selection" of films for the 2022 film festival the following April.
