Halloween may be a bit different this year but you can still enjoy a tipple or two with Dark Bear

The 10pm curfew for hospitality may have put a stop to most Halloween parties and celebrations, but a popular cocktail bar will be offering an alternative.

Lloyd Brown and David Smith at Dark Bear in Bridport have come up with a great idea to mark Halloween, a night they would usually be holding a tasting event.

Dark Bear, which has been making sure customers can still get their favourite tipple by delivering cocktails, spirits and drinks across west Dorset during the pandemic and lockdown, recently moved and set up shop at the Bridge House Hotel in East Street, working alongside its Potting Shed.

But now the pair are going virtual and offering two tasting events on October 31 – one for adults and a mocktail one for children.

David said: "We usually run tasting nights every month but due to Covid everything is restricted. Both myself and Lloyd wanted to continue with the tastings because everyone looks forward to them and we both really enjoy hosting them as well.

"Jesse Estes was booked in to do the Ocho Tequila tasting on Halloween, so instead of cancelling it, we thought we could do it online via Instagram live.

"We are taking advantage of our canning machines and have organised a tasting kit that we will deliver locally."

The tasting kits are £30 for two adults, which will be held at 7pm, and the children's one is £5 each, which will be held at 3pm, both on Saturday, October 31.
