Bridport Carnival Committee is calling on organisations to help with this year's parade and receive money raised from the event in return.

In exchange for some community help, such as selling raffle tickets, escorting the carnival processions or helping man road closures, groups can apply to be a beneficiary of this year's carnival.

A spokesman for Bridport Carnival Committee said: "It's a win-win situation. You help us, we help you.

"It can be as much fun as you make it - and the more money we raise, the more you can receive.

"If your organisation has young people, it is a brilliant learning experience, using and acquiring many useful skills. If your organisation has older people, it can be a great social experience - a great way to meet new friends and old."

If you are interested in being one of Bridport Carnival's beneficiaries, email [email protected] with your name and address or visit bridportcarnival.co.uk

Bridport Carnival events will be going ahead this year, with the parade on Saturday August 20.
