Find out where people have identified special places in Bridport with an interactive map.

Dorset Unlocked is a community created interactive map of special places in Dorset for nature and heritage.

The project is led by volunteer staff and students at Bournemouth University, collaborating with the National Trust, Hengistbury Head, BCP and everyone in Dorset who wishes to contribute to the map.

The aim is to share why people think Dorset is special and to encourage others to explore, enjoy and value the benefits of connecting with nature and heritage.

You can join in and share where you enjoy nature or heritage. Send a photo and a few words saying where it is and what makes it makes you think or feel to [email protected] or use the Google form.

Feel free to add a place or thing already on the map.

Here's where has already be identified in and around Bridport:

• West Bay - someone has highlighted the evening light as to why they think it is a special place

• Eype - "otherworldly when the tide is out"

• Symondsbury - "tranquil and resting"

• Hollow Lane near Symondsbury - "Amazing tendrils of trees holding on to life"

• Whetley old railway bridge near Powerstock - "Just imagine, once big steam trains came this way"

• South Poorton Nature Reserve view - "inviting decent into an intricately woven wet valley world of streams fern-lined paths"
