A Bridport holiday business is applying for a drinks licence – for the alcohol it intends to put in guest hampers.

The owners of Broad Road Farm in Beaminster Road have made the application to Dorset Council.

It says: "We are a small, family run, farm providing luxury holiday accommodation (five rooms) and on site local food hampers and picnics with which we would like to include a selection of local wines and other beverages. These will be consumed in our accommodation and elsewhere around the property including gardens and outbuildings. Hampers will be prepped in our Farmhouse Kitchen for distribution to our guests and not the general public. Our aim is to keep our guests away from supermarkets and introduce them to local producers."

Public comments on the application can be made until March 22.
