Bridport's Burrough Harmony Centre has received a boost thanks to a local estate agent.

Kennedys Estate Agents was delighted to present a cheque for £1,000 to The Burrough Harmony Centre at the charity's open event to celebrate World Mental Health Day.

In total Kennedys has donated over £2,100 to the charity this year.

Directors, Tina and Christy Cornish appreciate the essential support provided by such dedicated staff and volunteers for people who are struggling.

They said: "As a family-run independent estate agency we live and work in Bridport and so we are delighted to be able to give back to our community by supporting local charities.

"Kennedys has seen record sales in recent months and have made a donation for each new instruction which reaches a successful completion.

"The Burrough Harmony Centre provide a friendly, welcoming, informal service offering peer support, information, signposting and a variety of enjoyable activities to local people to ensure mental wellbeing and offer a non-judgemental safe space for anyone reaching a mental health crisis to talk in their drop-in centre.

"Although The Burrough Harmony Centre receive some funding for the Community Front Room, they rely on funding to run the Harmony sessions and for all the extras that make Harmony special. One lady at the event said that, 'this organisation had literally saved her life'.

"Kennedys prides itself on its personal service, matching people with property, tailoring its marketing to suit your needs. With heightened buyer demand at present, if you are considering moving but are concerned about being able to secure a new home that's right for you, Kennedys can help."
