A beautiful seven-metre scale model of Earth is coming to Symondsbury this autumn.

Inside Out Dorset will bring Luke Jerram's installations, Gaia - which uses NASA photography - to the village from September 24 to 26, giving the public the chance to see our planet as an astronaut would view it from space.

Each centimetre of the artwork represents 18m of the Earth's surface and the event is being hosted by Activate Performing Arts.

Gaia will also feature at Moors Valley Country Park and Poole and Christchurch. A range of events will be held alongside the installation.

Kate Wood and Bill Gee, Inside Out Dorset co-artistic directors, said: "We are delighted to announce a diverse and inventive programme encompassing an awe-inspiring sculpture hidden in a working forest, giant puppets on a Georgian seafront, sound installations in ancient woodland and at least three world premieres.

"After having to postpone the festival last year, we're delighted to be able to bring Inside Out Dorset to life this year while taking every measure to ensure the safety of our audiences, artists, performers and volunteers."
