Large amount of cannabis seized and 23-year-old arrested in Bridport drugs raid

A large amount of cannabis and cash was seized by police after a raid in Bridport.

Police executed a drugs warrant at an address in the town centre today (Friday) at around 8.05am and a 23-year-old local man was arrested.

A spokesman for Bridport Police said: "I am not here to debate which drugs should be legal or not. Cannabis is illegal.

"Dealers cause misery to our communities and will be targeted.

"Warrant executed in Bridport this morning, suspect now in custody."

A spokesman for Dorset Police added: "A quantity of suspected class B drugs were located as well as a quantity of cash.

"A 23-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

"Local officers continue to work to respond to concerns surrounding suspected drug related activity in the community and we urge members of the public with information to contact us vis Dorset Police at dorset.police.uk, email [email protected] or by calling 101."
