London Air Traffic Control alerts Bridport crew to fire
A crew from Bridport Fire Station was alerted to a fire in Kingston Russell by London Air Traffic Control this afternoon (Friday).
One fire engine was sent to a fire in the open just before 2.50pm.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "London Air Traffic Control called in the fire after a light air craft that was flying at 1,800ft spotted smoke and flames in the woods.
"On scene, crews carried out a 360 of the area and found smoke issuing within the woods. Further investigations found that land owners were cutting back hedges and having a controlled burn."
