Road improvements are to take place in South Street, Bridport between Monday, February 6 and Thursday, February 9.

To enable the replacement of the road surface, South Street will be closed between 9am and 4pm each day.

Residents and businesses have received letters to notify them of the work, and signs will be erected advising motorists of the diversion route.

As parking will be unavailable in South Street between 9am and 4pm on these days, businesses are asked to arrange deliveries outside of the hours of the road closure.

Dorset Council is also advising residents to seek alternative parking during these times. 

Old cast iron gullies that were causing surface flooding have already been replaced in readiness for the resurfacing work. 

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "We thank everyone in advance for their patience during the work to improve South Street. Businesses will be very much open during the works to make Bridport an even better place to visit."
