A man has died after being found in the sea off West Bay.

Emergency services, including police, coastguard, ambulance, air ambulance and fire service, rushed to West Bay yesterday morning (Monday) at around 8am after concerns for a man in the water off West Beach.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Officers attended along with HM Coastguard and the ambulance service.

"Very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified."
