Experienced community journalist Francesca Evans has been appointed new editor of the Bridport and Dorchester Nub News websites.

Francesca has worked in local journalism in the West Dorset and East Devon area for the past 15 years.

She grew up in Lyme Regis and attended The Woodroffe School before going on to study journalism at Southampton Solent University.

On graduating, she worked for the View From Newspapers group, which previously had publications in Bridport and Dorchester, and was given her first editorship at 25.

In 2018, Francesca launched the LymeOnline website and printed newspaper, covering the Lyme Regis area, and continues to manage this alongside her work with Nub News.

She was appointed editor for the Axminster and Seaton Nub News websites in East Devon in 2020 and is now expanding her patch to take on the Bridport and Dorchester sites.

Francesca said: "Both Bridport and Dorchester are vibrant, dynamic towns and I'm looking forward to getting involved, meeting the people at the heart of these communities and bringing you local, reliable news you can trust as we develop Nub News' coverage of Dorset."

If you have a news story or event in the Bridport or Dorchester areas, you can get in touch with Francesca by emailing [email protected] or call 07810 221 420.
