More fines were handed out across Dorset over the weekend, including in West Bay.

Dorset Police officers were patrolling local beauty spots as the county experienced more nice weather.

However, visitors were issued with fines for non-essential travel.

This included four bikers who had travelled from Purbeck to West Bay on Sunday, two people who travelled to the Lyme Regis area from London on Saturday, and another to someone who had travelled to Ringstead from Poole, also on Saturday.

Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Officers were out on patrol on Saturday.

A spokesman said: "We would like to remind everyone that we are still in a national lockdown and to remain close to home when exercising, consider whether you are making an essential journey and to continue to follow the lockdown rules."

Dorchester officers also gave out fines on Saturday.

A spokesman said: "Patrols have been conducted at local beauty spots in Dorchester.

"We engaged with members of the public, most of whom were local to the Dorchester area. Those that weren't we engaged, encouraged and educated but sadly some fines were issued."

Over the weekend of February 27 and 28, a total of 31 people were reported for breaching the travel rules over a five-hour period at Lulworth and Durdle Door, with more than 100 cars turned around due to the sheer volume of traffic in the area.

Despite residents now being able to meet one other person socially outside, the stay at home message is still in place until March 29.
