Bridport Round Table's Christmas Joy campaign has raised more than £2,000 so far.

The group wants to raise £5,000 to be able to give Christmas food parcels to as many families in Bridport and the surrounding area as possible.

They recognise it has been a hard year for all and want to take away some of the stress and anxiety that might be affecting them and bring a little bit of joy to friends and neighbours.

The parcels will contain ingredients for a full Christmas dinner for a family of four and will include a whole fresh turkey and all the trimmings, cheese, biscuits and chutney, a Christmas pudding and yule log and sweets and chocolate.

More than 40 per cent of the target has been raised - £2,150 – and the stretch target is £10,000, with anything raised over the initial target being donated to Cupboard Love Food Bank and Beaminster Food Bank.
