After a two year break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the much-loved Musicathon is back in Bridport.
Local musicians, singers, choirs and groups will be performing at Bridport United Church from 9am to 5pm and in Bucky Doo Square from 10am to 12.30pm throughout the day on Saturday, June 11.
Similar to previous years, individuals and groups are being sponsored by relatives and friends to perform in front of a public audience during a 15-minute slot.
This year, the Bucky Doo Square stage will be mainly for young musicians, with non-stop entertainment, refreshments and free entry at the United Church. There will be a coffee morning until midday with volunteers serving light lunches and other refreshments in the hall throughout the afternoon. There will also be a bric-a-brac stall raising money in Bucky Doo Square.
The Musicathon this year will raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare and The Richard Ely Trust for Young Musicians, which supports Dorset's young people with their musical studies.
