Patients who are due their second Covid-19 vaccine, will soon get an invite to book an appointment.

Vaccinations started at Bridport Medical Centre, the centre for the Jurassic Coast Primary Care Network (PCN), in December and the 12-week dates for second doses are approaching.

The group - made up of surgeries in Beaminster, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Charmouth - is getting details of delivery dates for the second doses from the NHS and will be contacting patients that need to be booked in for their second vaccines directly.

Dr Dani Farrell, clinical director of Jurassic Coast PCN and GP at Barton House Medical Practice in Beaminster, said: "When we first started these clinics, we did not have an IT solution that allowed patients to book their own appointments online. We do now, and so if we have your mobile number, we can send your invite via a text and you can book a vaccine appointment directly online.

"If the clinic is full, you will be able to book the next available clinic once this has been put in the system, it will appear as an option. We need confirmation from NHS centrally of vaccine delivery before we can put clinic dates on; dates are not known far in advance."

Updates of clinic dates will also be put on the Jurassic Coast PCN website.

Dr Farrell added: "If you do not have a mobile, then please do not worry, we will telephone you to book or send a letter invite if we cannot get hold of you on the phone.

"Thank you for your patience, we will get to everyone as soon as we can. As you know, we have a fantastic healthcare and community team who has worked hard to bring this together and make it happen."
