By Trevor Bevins - Local Democracy Reporter 24th Jun 2026
CHANGES at a holiday park feature in the latest planning applications for sites in Bridport, Charmouth and nearby villages, including proposed changes at a holiday park and several home improvement schemes.
At Wood Farm Holiday Park, off Axminster Road at Charmouth, an environmental impact screening opinion has been requested for proposals to convert 31 touring caravan pitches and camping pods into 27 static and lodge-style caravan pitches, together with environmental improvements.
In Bridport, listed building consent is being sought for replacement rooflights at Priory Mills, Priory Lane, while a separate householder application at 18 Lansdowne Road proposes removing an existing garage and store and replacing them with a single-storey flat-roofed extension.
The Lansdowne Road plans also include removing low-level retaining walls, constructing a new retaining wall, extending the front parking area and replacing pebble-dashed render with a smooth sponge-finished render.
Other applications include proposals at 8 Downside Close, Charmouth, to convert a garage into a bedroom and utility room, improve insulation, add solar shading, and build an open-sided carport, studio and timber garden pergola.
Further householder plans have been lodged for alterations and an extension to a garage outbuilding at Little Venn Farm, Venn Lane, Blackney, and for a single-storey side extension and alterations at Linden Cottage, Slape Hill, Waytown.
All of the applications are available to view on Dorset Council's online planning register, where members of the public can inspect the submitted documents and comment before decisions are made.
