Police have been working with the Sir John Colfox Academy in Bridport, following complaints from drivers that students were putting themselves and road users in danger when walking to and from school.

Police have received complaints from drivers that pupils are walking two or three abreast along Pymore Road as they make their way to and from school, often with their backs to traffic.

When challenged by drivers, it has been reported that some students have become "very abusive".

A statement from Bridport Police said: "We would ask parents and guardians to remind their children that use this route home to use the pavements where possible please so that we can hopefully prevent someone getting hurt."
