Report of group with machetes in Bridport sparks large police response

A report of a group of people with machetes sparked a large police response in Bridport.
A number of police vehicles were seen in and around the Skilling area this afternoon.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police were called at 2.15pm on Thursday, June 10 to a report of a group of people in possession of machetes on Alexandra Road in Bridport.
"Officers are currently carrying out searches of the area.
"There were no reports of any threats made to members of the public."
