A Rotarian running 46 marathons in 46 days completed her 38th challenge in West Bay on Saturday.

Rachel Goodfellow, president of the Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles, was greeted and congratulated by Colin Bowditch, president of Bridport Rotary Club, other club members and members of the public and she finished the 38th day of her gruelling challenge.

Her route for this marathon alone was enough to put off many – starting near Beaminster, heading for Symondsbury, over Colmers Hill, up to and along the coastal path, over Golden Cap, down to Seatown, up and over Thormcombe Beacon, down to Eype and up before finishing along West Bay promenade.

In 2016, Rachel completed 26 marathons in 26 days, one of which passed along the coast to Bridport'.

The money raised from this year's marathons will go to the Hidden Needs Trust, which supports children with special educational needs, and the Rotary Foundation.

A collection in support of Rachel's chosen charities was made at the finish line in West Bay by the Rotary Club of Bridport and a donation was also made by the club.
