Bridport's six-game unbeaten run came to an end in a lack-lustre performance last Saturday, losing 2-1 away to Elburton Villa in the South West Peninsular League Premier East division.

The Bees purple patch saw them climb off the bottom of the table to 14th position and manager Chris Herbst told a reporter after the game: "We did not turn up. In speed we played some really good stuff but the majority of it was poor."

The Bridport goal came from former Lyme Regis player Fred Parson who volleyed the ball home from a Tom Richardson cross.

On Saturday the Bees have a good chance of returning to winning ways with a home game against Holsworthy who have won six of their 23 games and are lying second from bottom in the table (kick-off 3pm).

Bridport Reserves were beaten 2-0 at home to Portland United Reserves which eaves them second from bottom in the Dorset Premier League. In the Dorset Senior League Beaminster beat Chickerell United 2-1.
